Consuming a cup of detox tea at least 3 – 4 times per week is a great way of ridding the body of toxin and promoting clear skin.
Detox teas can be bought in stores or made at home, which makes it not just affordable, but also, the freshness of the ingredients is guaranteed.
These teas can be quite delicious and a great substitute for your regular cup of coffee or store-bought orange juice if you are looking to achieve better health.
Here are 4 Detox tea recipes that you can make and enjoy right at home:
Note that recipes are based on single servings.
General utensils you may need:
- A sieve or strainer to strain your tea the old-fashioned way
- A teapot, which will eliminate the need for a sieve since they already come with a straining compartment to keep ingredients and liquid separate or
- A metal tea ball infuser that can be used in a cup to keep ingredients and liquid separate.
1-
Chamomile, Lemon and Honey Tea
What you’ll need:
- 8 oz. of water for every cup of tea
- 1 tablespoons of dried chamomile
- 2 teaspoon of fresh lemon juice
- 1 teaspoon of honey
What to do:
- Boil the water for the amount of tea you want to make. Most people consume tea up to 4 times per day since tea provides multiple benefits to the body.
- Remove the water from the stove and add 2 tablespoons of dried chamomile flowers for every cup of tea that you are making. Add more for a stronger concentration and less for a weaker concentration.
Instead of adding loose ingredients straight into the water, you can either use a metal ball infuser or the mesh infuser that comes with your teapot if that’s what you are using to boil the water. A reusable muslin cloth bag works great as well.
- Add the fresh lemon juice and honey to the water.
- Stir and leave to cool and infuse for 10 minutes.
- If necessary, place the sieve on top of a cup then pour the tea to remove the chamomile flowers.
- Drink and enjoy!
