Upgrading Your Mindset to elevate your path to Success
Your Achievements reflect your mind. If success is of importance to you, you must develop the right mindset to take you there.
Note: Success does not necessarily mean financial wealth.
You can want to be successful at anything. Painting, waking up at 6 am every morning, drinking a glass of juice every day- any goal, big and small. It does not matter.
But being successful at the chosen goal comes down to whether your mind is in alignment with that goal.
In fact, succeeding at smaller wins first increases your chances at succeeding at bigger wins. Especially for those who are easily distracted or suffers from shiny object syndrome.
Once you have a goal and a system in place for achieving that, the next thing most important thing is your mindset.
Your mind is connected to your emotions and the only way to make changes to your mind is to tap into your emotions and make changes where necessary. This is the definition of a mindset shift in a nutshell.
And with a few Powerful mindset shifts, your path for success will elevate beyond your imagination.
So, let us get started.
Here are 8 Mindset Shifts to ace your chances at achieving the things you desire in life.

1
Whatever you do, do it with a Purpose.
Every day, we tend to perform actions that are rather pointless. There is no driving force behind them, but we do them and continue to do them on repeat.
When you want to succeed at something, you must align your every action with it. This purpose for your actions must align with your goals.
This does not mean you cannot watch Netflix or play board games. You absolutely can.
But even those actions can be in alignment with your goal. They can be rewards- Rewards you give yourself after taking one action towards achieving your goal.
Currently, I am enjoying the Bridgerton series on Netflix and I would love to binge-watch all the episodes at once. But it would not get me any closer to my goal of posting one to three articles per week.
So instead, I reward myself with a few episodes of Bridgerton providing that my articles are written, edited, and ready to be published.
My purpose behind my reward is therefore in alignment with my goal and encourages me to act rather than be acted upon.
2
Be Willing to do whatever it takes.
Stop making excuses is what I am saying.
Especially the excuse of not having enough time.
Everyone has the same amount of time in a day. What everyone does not have is the same amount of energy, rest, responsibilities, and duties.
So, what you need to do is come up with strategies to manage your life better and quit making excuses.
- You can find tasks that do not require your attention and delegate them to someone else. Therefore, reducing your responsibilities
- Eat foods that provide the body with a steady flow of energy, like complex carbs.
- Create systems to better manage your Duties, such as wash and fold laundry once per week instead of every day which will give you some free time to work on your goal.
- Cater for enough rest at night that will guarantee a functioning brain the next day.
You must be willing to go out of your way to do what is required of you to create the future you wish for yourself.
3
Be Enthusiastic.
I would say excited but jumping around, screaming about your goal does not mean you will be successful.
So be enthusiastic; meaning driven, keen, highly interested in or about whatever your goal is.
You want to feel that strong urge to talk about it and learn about it. The more passionate you feel for your goal, the more motivation and inspiration you will have to do what it takes to succeed at it.
4
Demand Excellence of Yourself
Quit taking substandard actions or doing barely sufficient work.
If you wish to build a business, do the work that you would require of an employee and I am sure that you would not like for them to be sloppy and uninterested in their roles and responsibilities.
Demand excellence of yourself before demanding them of others.
You must take responsibility for the results you receive. And to get excellent results, you must take it upon yourself to do excellent work.
5
Be Prepared
Life gives you only what you can handle. Even when you do not think you can.
And while a lot of people want success, not many are prepared for it and therefore it will never come their way.
Work on building skills, expose yourself to people and places, develop habits, etc. that are in alignment with your goal. So that when your time comes to accomplish that goal, you can because you are prepared.
If you wish to drive a race car and you one day receive an invitation to do so but you do not know how to drive, you will miss your chance to accomplish that goal and you will continue to miss your chance until you are prepared.
Remember, the opportunity passes by those who are not well prepared.
6
Develop the image of a Good Leader.
Here are some good definitions of what makes a great leader from an article on Forbes.com.
10 Unique Perspectives on what makes a great leader
My favorite one is “A great Leader possesses a clear vision, is courageous, has integrity, honesty, humility, and clear focus. He or she is a strategic planner and believes in Teamwork. Great leaders help people reach their goals, are not afraid to hire people that might be better than them, and take pride in the accomplishments of those they help along the win.” by Bhagi Rath.
What you choose to succeed at may not be so grand that it requires hiring others. Do, however, be open to the idea of reaching out for help as needed.
As for being a good leader, I could not have said it better.
7
Build a strong character.
In your quest for success, what do you want to be known for?
Or rather, who do you want to be known as?
This is what character is about.
Strong character plays a vital role in not just achieving success but most importantly maintaining it.
Qualities such as Courage- to face your fears because the higher up you are, the more vulnerable you will feel and Honesty and integrity- to earn and keep the trust of the people that love and support you; can get you to a far place when it comes to success.
8
Practice Self-Discipline
You need to be your own parent sometimes and imagine yourself as the child you want so badly to grow up well behaved. You do this because you know it is important and that it will determine your future.
In my personal life, self-discipline is always a challenge.
But one that is always worth it.
The only way for you to work on your goal constantly and consistently is to practice self-discipline.
Scold yourself when needed but also love and encourage yourself to strive for more because you can achieve more, and you know it.
In conclusion, your chance at success is dependent on if your mind is up to the challenge. And when it comes to taking on a challenge and succeeding, changes are required.
The 8 Powerful Mindset Shifts to elevate your path to success are:
- Whatever you do, do it with Purpose.
- Be willing to do what it takes.
- Be Enthusiastic
- Demand Excellence of yourself
- Be prepared.
- Develop the image of a good leader.
- Build Strong character
- Practice Self-Discipline.
Makes these changes and you will accomplish the desires of your heart.
